We’ve been drinking tea for thousands of years—with evidence of tea drinking found as early as 200 BC—and it’s still the drink of choice for many. In fact, tea is the second-most consumed beverage globally after water1! Whether you drink tea for its myriad health benefits2, as an afternoon pick-me-up, or to wind down the evening, it’s not hard to see why tea remains so beloved.

Smallholder farmers produce most of the world’s tea—and they’re facing mounting challenges. Historically low prices, worker shortages, and unpredictable—and more extreme—weather are crippling farmers’ abilities to make a living. But transformative change is already well underway, and together with committed farmers and responsible companies, we’re building a brighter future for tea.
